OUR
PROGRAM
At Playcation®, we offer enrichment programming in a variety of fun, culturally rich classes like Capoeira Kids (Brazilian martial arts), Flight School (Acro Yoga & partner balancing), Happy Feet (Salsa & partner dancing), Mindful Movers (Yoga, breathwork & guided meditation), and Little Defenders (Self-Defense & empowerment). Each class is designed to support whole-child development and engage kids’ bodies and minds in a fun, safe and supportive setting. Our afterschool program runs by semester or trimester, offering 30–45 minute classes held 1–2 times per week for children in TK through 5th grade. We keep our class sizes limited to ensure individualized attention and a high level of student engagement. BRAZILIAN MARTIAL ARTS
Capoeira Kids is a high-energy Brazilian martial arts class that blends movement, music, and play! Kids build confidence, coordination, and teamwork through Capoeira moves like the half-moon kick “Meia Lua” and cartwheel “Aú”, animal-inspired games “Amazonas”, basic acrobatics, striking drills on soft targets and sing traditional Capoeira songs in Portuguese. As they grow and master new skills, each child progresses through our Capoeira Cord Level system (using colorful wristbands), celebrating their achievements every season in their Capoeira Kids journey!

LITTLE DEFENDERS
SELF-DEFENSE & EMPOWERMENT
Little Defenders combines the basics of non-contact boxing, kickboxing, and self-defense to help children build confidence, discipline, and body awareness. Kids learn fundamental strikes, blocks, and footwork while practicing teamwork and focus through fun, age-appropriate drills. Students use a variety of equipment—like boxing gloves, kicking pads, and soft shields—but do not spar, ensuring a safe and supportive, non-aggressive environment where every child can grow stronger inside and out.

SALSA & PARTNER DANCING
Happy Feet introduces kids to easy-to-follow partner dancing steps and dance-inspired fitness moves, helping them learn the basics of how to lead and follow while keeping everyone moving and grooving—because what’s more fun than dancing? They also discover the fundamentals of partner dancing styles like Latin Salsa and more, build self-confidence, and connect with others through rhythm and movement. Each season introduces new footwork, dance combinations, and music, so whether it’s your child’s first class or they’re returning to build on their skills, they’ll always have fun stepping, spinning, and smiling!

GUIDED MEDITATION
Mindful Movers combines Yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation to help kids recharge, refocus, and build confidence from the inside out. This holistic class gives children a chance to digitally detox, move their bodies, and calm their minds through fun, age-appropriate practices. Kids learn Yoga poses using animal names and familiar shapes, explore simple breathing techniques to regulate emotions, and practice guided meditations that nurture focus and relaxation. Whether it’s their first time on the mat or they’re returning for another session, every child will have fun becoming a Mindful Mover!

FOR KIDS
Flight School teaches kids the fundamentals of Acro Yoga—a playful blend of partner yoga and balance-based movement. Kids take turns being the Flyer and the Base, building teamwork, trust, and communication skills in a safe, playful setting. Children explore creative partner poses and group formations and learn how to spot safely, supporting and encouraging one another as a team! Each season introduces new poses and challenges, so whether it’s your child’s first time or they’re returning, they’ll love learning to lift, balance, and fly!

Brett was a celebrity trainer on NBC’s BIGGEST LOSER and founder of SWEAT WITH SOUL, who was named one of the world’s “Top 100 Health & Fitness Influencers” by Greatist. He has a BS in Psychology and Biology from Claremont McKenna College, and is certified as Personal Trainer, Lifestyle and Nutrition Coach, 200 RYT Yoga Instructor and Capoeira martial arts instructor.

LEAD COACH
Robin Mock has been moving and dancing her entire life. She started ballroom dancing at 14 years old, taught collegiate ballroom dance at Indiana University and has competed and performed in salsa, ballroom and hustle dance styles. She recently added Acro Yoga to her life and enjoys similarities between partner dancing and partnered Acro Yoga.
